2. At a glance

GutFlow is a personal bowel diary. It requires no account and stores your entries on your device. GutFlow does not operate its own cloud synchronization and does not include advertising or analytics platforms.

3. Data processed in the app

Depending on which features you use, GutFlow processes the following locally:

Biometric data such as your face or fingerprint is not provided to GutFlow. When biometric unlocking is enabled, the operating system performs the authentication.

4. Purposes and legal bases

Local processing provides the features you choose: recording and displaying entries, local patterns, reminders, reports, backups, and app protection. Where the provider processes personal data to provide the service or handle a support request, the applicable basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR, or Article 6(1)(f) GDPR for legitimate interests in secure operation and responding to enquiries. Diary contents are not automatically sent to a GutFlow server.

5. Exports, backups, and recipients

GutFlow does not automatically send your diary entries to third parties. When you create an export or backup, you choose its location and any recipient. Your chosen storage may be a cloud service. Separately, operating-system backup features may back up app data according to your device settings. Those services are subject to their providers’ privacy information.

6. Reminders

If you enable reminders, GutFlow asks for permission to schedule local notifications. Diary contents are not sent to a GutFlow server to deliver these reminders.

7. Retention and deletion

You can reset local app data under Privacy & Security. Exported reports and backup files remain in their chosen locations until you delete them there. Uninstalling the app removes local app data according to the rules of your operating system.

8. Protection

GutFlow offers an optional PIN app lock and biometric unlocking where supported. You can protect backup files with a separate password. Please also protect your device and the locations where you keep exports and backups. App lock is not a claim that every exported file is encrypted.

9. Tracking

GutFlow does not include third-party advertising, tracking, or analytics SDKs. If the app’s data practices change, this policy will be updated.

10. Your rights

Subject to applicable legal conditions, you have rights of access, correction, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and objection under Articles 15–21 GDPR. You can also complain to a data protection supervisory authority under Article 77 GDPR. The provider does not have access to diary contents stored only on your device.

11. Changes

This policy may be updated when app features, legal requirements, or data practices change. The current published version applies.

12. Support and external websites

If you contact support by email, your email address and message are used to handle your request. Please do not send health reports, diary entries, or backups containing sensitive information. Opening support or information pages connects to the website and involves technical connection data such as your IP address. Opening these links does not attach your diary entries.
